Jerry Ondo

Jerry Ondo was born on March 2, 1984, and throughout his life he embodied many roles—a proud Navy veteran, a loving son and grandson, a devoted brother and uncle, a loyal friend, and above all, a father to his three beautiful daughters, Tessa, Louisa, and Sofia. They were the center of his world and his greatest source of pride and joy.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy for more than ten years, from 2001 to 2011. Specializing in aviation and electronic warfare operations, he served as both an Aviation Electronics Technician and an Aviation Warfare Systems Operator. Throughout his military career, he supported critical missions during the Global War on Terror and earned numerous commendations, including the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. His dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service left a lasting impression on his fellow sailors and all who served alongside him.

Following his military service, Jerry built a career as an electrician, taking great pride in his work and finding fulfillment in staying active and productive. More importantly, he carried with him a servant's heart. Whether helping family, supporting friends, or extending kindness to a stranger in need, Jerry was always willing to lend a hand.

Jerry had a gift for making people feel at ease. His smile and laughter could light up any room, and his warmth, humor, and compassion made him an amazing friend to so many. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around him. The memories he created and the impact he made on the lives of others continue to live on through everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though his life was cut tragically short, Jerry's legacy endures through his daughters and the countless lives he touched. His memory also lives on through the Patriots 5K, an event created to honor his life while raising awareness for veteran mental health and the challenges many veterans face after their service. Through this mission, we strive to carry forward Jerry's spirit of service, compassion, and hope, supporting others just as he always did.

Jerry's life, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Though he is no longer with us, his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come through the love he shared, the family he cherished, and the lives he inspired.
